The purpose of this association is to enhance professionalism and quality of services to the membership and persons and organizations charged with the emergency handling of hazardous materials in their efforts to protect and insure the safety of life, the environment and property.
Objectives:
To provide a unified voice of hazardous material incident response professionals in the formulation of policies in regulatory negotiations and other issues in the hazardous materials field.
Bring together persons interested in the purposes of the association to develop a bond of friendship and understanding among the members of the fire service of this state.
Support and encourage the development of hazardous materials response capability in the fire services of this state.
Formulate and support desirable legislation in support of hazardous materials responders.
To provide a means for continuing education and training.
To provide a source for the general education of the public.
Provide a vehicle for timely dissemination of accurate and updated hazardous material response information.
To provide a source for state and national guidance in the establishment of hazardous materials standards.
